Behind the Blend: Women’s Nora+

Behind the Blend: Women’s Nora+

With a large and growing family, wellness has never been an abstract idea for us. It’s been lived in real time, through pregnancies, postpartum seasons, sleepless nights, and the long stretch of caring for ourselves in-between.

Women’s Nora+ has been part of our family story for a long time. Caleb, our tea blend-master, first began experimenting with variations of this tea more than fourteen years ago, during Brigette’s first pregnancy. What started as a simple, nourishing herbal blend quickly became something he returned to again and again.

Women’s Nora+ grew slowly, thoughtfully, over years of lived experience. This post is part of our Behind the Blend series, where we share the story, purpose, and care that shape each tea we craft.

What Is Women’s Nora+?

Women’s Nora+ is part of our Holistic Collection, a group of teas blended for function first. These blends are made with herbs and roots trusted for generations, chosen to support wellness in simple, down-to-earth ways, from calming the nervous system to gently nourishing the body.

Nora+ is a nourishing herbal tonic created to support women’s wellness, with a particular focus on hormonal balance and reproductive health. It’s caffeine-free, mineral-rich, and designed to feel like a wholesome cup you can turn to regularly.

It is considered pregnancy friendly after the first trimester, with guidance from a healthcare provider.*

Understanding the Functional Language Behind Herbal Wellness

You may hear certain terms used in functional or herbal medicine spaces. While these aren’t medical claims, they can help explain how herbs have traditionally been understood.

  • Nervine: Herbs traditionally used to calm and support the nervous system.
  • Adaptogen: Natural substances believed to help the body adapt to stress and support balance.
  • Nootropic: Compounds associated with supporting cognitive function.
  • Anxiolytic: Substances traditionally used to help reduce feelings of anxiety.

Several herbs in Nora+ are often described using this language, particularly oatstraw and nettles, because of their calming and nourishing qualities.

Where the Name Nora+” Comes From

Nora is an acronym for four traditional herbs often recommended by midwives and herbalists during pregnancy and postpartum care:

  • Nettle
  • Oatstraw
  • Red raspberry leaf
  • Alfalfa

These herbs have a long history of use in women’s wellness traditions, particularly for their nourishing, supportive properties rather than any quick or forceful effects. Women’s Nora+ also includes red clover, adding another layer of gentle botanical support.

Women’s Nora+ Ingredients and Their Benefits

Each ingredient in Women’s Nora+ was chosen intentionally, not for trendiness, but for its longstanding role in women’s herbal wellness traditions.

Who Women’s Nora+ Is For

Women’s Nora+ may be a good fit if you are:

  • Looking for gentle, nourishing support during pregnancy (after the first trimester, with guidance from a healthcare provider)
  • Navigating postpartum recovery and wanting mineral-rich, caffeine-free support
  • Experiencing hormonal transitions and seeking a steady, supportive daily tea
  • Drawn to traditional herbal wellness without harsh or stimulating ingredients
  • Wanting a calming, nourishing cup you can return to regularly

This blend is designed to support the long, in-between seasons of life, not just a single moment.

Why We Chose to Blend It for You

Over the years, our family has befriended many midwives. As Caleb continued to refine this blend, they began asking for it by name.

Again and again, we heard the same thing. This blend works beautifully, but it’s not always realistic to gather herbs, measure proportions, and prepare nourishing infusions during the exhausting days of pregnancy and newborn life.

That’s why we chose to make Women’s Nora+ part of our Holistic Collection. We wanted to offer the same blend our own family relied on, already prepared with care, consistency, and intention.

Women’s Nora+ is available in both loose leaf and tea bag form, so you can choose what feels easiest for your day. The goal is the same: to make gentle, nourishing support more accessible when energy and time are limited.

How to Brew Women’s Nora+ Tea at Home

For a nourishing cup:

  • Use 1 heaping teaspoon of loose leaf tea per 12 ounces of hot water
  • Steep for 10 to 15 minutes to allow the herbs to fully infuse

Many people enjoy this tea as a longer steep or even as a gentle overnight infusion, especially when looking for deeper mineral extraction.

A Steady Companion Through Many Seasons

Women’s Nora+ wasn’t created in a single moment. It was shaped slowly, through years of pregnancies, postpartum recoveries, and the everyday realities of family life.

It’s a blend our Piper & Leaf moms reach for often. A tea they swear by during seasons of change, growth, and recovery.

Our hope is that Women’s Nora+ can be a steady companion for you, too. Through the miraculous and ever-changing seasons of womanhood. Even if you’re simply looking for a nourishing, caffeine-free tea to support your body, Nora+ offers a gentle place to begin.
