Christmas in July: A Little Holiday Cheer in the Middle of Summer

We’re getting to the stage of summer where you start to wonder if the heat will last forever. The Alabama sun is blazing, peaches are ripening, and sweet tea season is in full swing. So naturally, we're bringing back Christmas. 

It might sound a little backwards, but if you've been around Piper & Leaf for very long, you know this has become one of our favorite traditions. We've celebrated Christmas in July since the earliest years of our company, and every summer we're reminded just how many people have been waiting for it. 

The truth is, our holiday blends have become some of the most anticipated teas we make. Every winter, they arrive to great excitement, and almost immediately someone asks when they'll be back again. We finally decided there was no reason to make everyone wait until November for another taste of the holidays. So from July 13–19, we're bringing a little winter wonder to the middle of summer. 

Whether you're a longtime fan who has been rationing the last scoop of Cherry Christmas or someone who's never experienced our holiday collection before, this is your chance to stock up before these favorites disappear again. Here’s a look at the blends making their midsummer return. 

Meet the Holiday Lineup 

Cherry Christmas 

Cherry Christmas has become our signature seasonal blend, and for many customers it simply wouldn't feel like Christmas without it. Rich black tea is layered with smooth amaretto, tart cherry, juicy berries, and creamy coconut for a blend that's festive, comforting, and surprisingly refreshing over ice. It's no wonder this one has become a customer favorite year after year. 

Mistletoe Grove 

Don't let the name fool you—this naturally caffeine-free green rooibos blend feels just as at home on a summer afternoon as it does beside a Christmas tree. Blood orange, apple, cinnamon, ginger, and a whisper of peppermint create a bright, complex cup that's both cozy and refreshing. 

Caramel Apple Pie 

Imagine warm baked apples, rich caramel, cinnamon, and ginger wrapped around a smooth Ceylon black tea. It's everything you love about homemade apple pie without ever turning on the oven. Dessert in a cup? We say yes! 

Pumpkin Moonshine 

We know pumpkin might seem a little out of place in July, but every fall people begin asking when Pumpkin Moonshine will return. So why not enjoy it a little early? Made with real pumpkin, ginger, cinnamon, clove, and other autumn spices, it's the blend that has folks counting down to sweater weather—even when it's ninety-five degrees outside. 

Mulling Spice 

This isn't technically tea, but it has earned its place in our Christmas lineup. Packed with oranges, apples, cinnamon, cloves, and star anise, one bag mulls two full gallons of cider or wine. Looking for a summer twist? Try chilling it into a spiced punch for your next cookout.  

Trailblazer Blend 

If you've ever wished you could bottle the smell of a campfire deep in the woods, Trailblazer comes pretty close. Smoky lapsang tea mingles with juniper, red cedar, and balsam fir for an unforgettable cup inspired by the outdoors. Even better, a portion of every purchase supports local land trusts, helping preserve wild places for future adventures. 

Brewing in Our Shops 

During Christmas in July, we'll be serving Cherry Christmas and Mistletoe Grove in our shops all week long. Whether you're introducing a friend to a holiday favorite or treating yourself to a mid-summer cup, we'd love to celebrate with you.
