The Mystery Behind the Blue
Piper Mint Blues captivates with its enchanting blue hue, inspired by the mesmerizing color-changing properties of the Australian-grown butterfly pea flower we stumbled upon at a food show. Entranced by its color-changing magic, we knew we had to incorporate it into a tea blend! At Piper and Leaf, we meticulously craft our blends, ensuring every element, from name, to flavor, and color, creates a cohesive experience. Our goal is to create special moments in your day that evoke nostalgia, creativity, and imagination, and a vibrant blue tea seemed like just the thing to achieve that!
Fun fact: Did you know that our initial plan was to create a blue raspberry tea? In theory, it sounded great! However, we soon realized that the fruit's acidity would change the color from electric blue to pinkish purple. So, we brainstormed and turned to mint tea for its non-acidic nature and added blueberries and blackberries to enhance the blue theme. Coincidentally, these berries are naturally low in acidity! Despite our initial hesitation, Piper Mint Blues emerged as a unique creation, leaving a lasting impression with its vibrant color and delightful taste!
