Stories Behind the Blend: The Heritage Collection
At Piper & Leaf, we've always loved creating original blends inspired by Southern gardens, family traditions, and the places we call home. Many of our teas tell stories about berry patches, front porches, mountain trails, or recipes passed down through generations. Those creative blends have become part of who we are, and we wouldn't trade them for anything.
Over time, however, we realized there was room for a different kind of collection. While many tea drinkers enjoy discovering something new, others return again and again to the same timeless favorites they've loved for years. We wanted to create those familiar teas with the same level of care, quality, and craftsmanship that goes into every Piper & Leaf blend. That desire eventually became the Heritage Collection.
Why We Created the Heritage Collection
The Heritage Collection is our tribute to the timeless teas people have enjoyed for generations. Rather than reinventing these classics, we wanted to honor them by sourcing high-quality tea leaves, pairing them with fresh botanicals when appropriate, and blending each tea in small batches.
These are the dependable daily drinkers that many people have cherished for decades, crafted to be fuller, fresher, and finished with a touch of Piper & Leaf charm. Whether you've enjoyed Earl Grey every morning for years or are just beginning your journey into loose-leaf tea, our hope is that these blends feel both comfortingly familiar and thoughtfully crafted.
Creating this collection also allows us to welcome even more tea lovers into the Piper & Leaf family. Some people discover us because they're looking for adventurous blends inspired by local orchards, while others simply want an exceptional version of the teas they already know and love. We believe there is room for both, and we're delighted to finally offer them both.
Meet the Collection
Earl Grey
Our Earl Grey begins with a bold black tea and is lifted with bright bergamot, orange rind, and delicate cornflowers. The familiar citrus notes and smooth finish make it a timeless cup that has earned its place among the world's most beloved teas.
English Breakfast
Our English Breakfast combines quality Ceylon and Indian black teas to create a rich, balanced cup with a full-bodied finish. It is bold enough to greet the morning yet smooth enough to enjoy throughout the day.
Afternoon Darjeeling
Known for its refined character, Darjeeling has long been considered one of the world's most celebrated black teas. Our Afternoon Darjeeling offers delicate floral notes and a gentle briskness that make for an elegant afternoon cup.
Classic Green
Blended from Japanese and Chinese sencha, our Classic Green offers a clean, refreshing flavor with a smooth grassy sweetness. It is an approachable everyday green tea that highlights the beauty of simplicity.
Jasmine Green
Our Jasmine Green layers delicate green tea with the rich floral aroma of jasmine blossoms, creating a cup that is both refreshing and wonderfully fragrant. The lingering floral finish has made jasmine tea a favorite across generations.
Garden Mint

Throughout the Christopher family's New England road trip, we'll be introducing each of these blends individually and sharing more about the traditions and history that have made them favorites around the world.
While many of our blends tell stories that began in North Alabama, these teas tell stories that have been shared around teapots for generations. We're honored to welcome them into the Piper & Leaf family, and we hope they'll find a place in yours as well.
