Westward Ho! Teton Adventures & Misadventures! (Days 18 & 19)
Share
The last two days in the Tetons have been a lesson in flexibility and finding the fun, no matter what the weather throws at you!
Day 18: Chilly temps foiled our kayaking plans, so we "went to town" in Jackson instead!
We discovered an unbelievable French pastry & coffee shop (a new all-time favorite!), browsed some cute shops, and the kids had a blast at the bouldering park near the town square. After a scenic walk through Lupine Meadows, we grabbed pizza near camp and finished with another beautiful sunset over Jackson Lake at Colter Bay. A perfect pivot to a cozy town day!

Day 19: We braved the cold for our kayaking adventure! It was a chilly, windy fight against the current up String Lake to get to Leigh Lake. We got wet, we were freezing, and we were absolutely swarmed by giant mosquitoes at the portage spot—the kids even hid in a bear box to escape!

But it was still an adventure; we saw an otter, and the views were incredible. Exhausted and covered in a few new bites, we ended the day crashing at the beach again.
Sometimes the best stories come from the messiest, most unexpected days! So grateful for these memories, even the shivering ones.
