DIY Gift for Favorite Galentine or Valentine

Calling all fellow crafters and tea enthusiasts! As the season of love rolls in, let's embark on a whimsical journey into the world of Scandinavian Heart Valentines – those intricate, charming creations that are about to become your new favorite thing. These little wonders not only look sweet but also double as the perfect tea holders, giving you a break from the typical Valentine's Day sweets. Get ready for a step-by-step guide to crafting the coziest Valentine around!

Materials to Get Your Scandinavian Heart Going:

  • Two sheets of festive-colored construction paper (go wild with romantic reds and pinks)
  • Scissors (the sharper, the better)
  • Glitter, sparkles, or any bling-bling you can find
  • Your go-to tea (ours is the fabulous Velvet Bliss – think chocolate-covered strawberry goodness)
  • Markers, pens, or any writing tools for personalization
  • Ribbons, lace, or anything else that screams fancy
  • Crafting supplies (stickers, beads, fabric scraps – raid your craft stash!)
  • Your favorite valentine to give it to!
Step 1: Cutting and Folding – Let the Creativity Unfold

Alright, creative souls, grab those construction papers and let the folding fiesta begin!

Start with two sheets of paper, preferably in festive colors! Then, match the papers up!

Fold your sheets in half, short side to short side, creating a symmetrical masterpiece in the making.

Next, unleash those scissor skills – cut each folded paper in half, leaving you two pieces, four pieces total (enough to make two hearts, woohoo!).

Now, round out the edges into arches. Don't worry about perfection; this is all about the cozy, handmade feel!

Next, cut three evenly spaced lines into each piece, stopping just before the arch starts to curve. For a stress-free start to your arch-cutting adventure, we've got a pro tip for you. Take that first cut right in the middle of your arch – or as close to the middle as your crafty eyes can manage (and trust us, eyeballing it is totally A-okay). Once you've made that middle cut, go ahead and work your scissor magic on either side of it. Easy-peasy, right? Your arches are bound to turn out fabulously, no ruler needed!

Now, separate the two halves of each piece apart with the precision of Cupid's arrow, and get ready to start weaving!

Step 2: Weaving the Love – A Colorful Dance of Strips

Let's dive into the weaving magic! You do not have to, but for the sake of ease, you can label each strip on both pieces as seen in the picture below – if labeling, be sure to use a pencil!

Starting with strip 1 on the right, weave strip A from the adjacent piece through it. Picture it as a dance of colors!

Now, for that extra pop, thread strip 1 through strip B.
